Frankfurt developer builds eight AI apps for people with disabilities — self-funded, beta testers wanted

Frankfurt am Main, July 14, 2026. According to the WHO, approximately 15 percent of the world's population lives with a disability — over 1.2 billion people. Frankfurt-based media producer and developer Sascha Manke has turned this into a project: 15/15, a family of eight Android apps for people with disabilities. Self-funded, no investors, no corporate backing.

Technical feature: Whenever possible, the AI runs directly on the device. No image or audio needs to leave the smartphone — privacy is part of the architecture, not an afterthought. Every app was developed from the start using simulated user profiles rather than being made accessible after the fact.

The motivation is personal: Manke himself has visual impairments, two other members of his family are severely visually impaired, and his daughter is on the autism spectrum. „I know what it is like when a hint in text or image form is simply not a hint at all. These apps are an attempt to change that — not perfect, but honest and a first step.“

The project is now looking for beta testers: affected individuals and relatives, Android, free of charge. iOS interested parties will be added to a waiting list. Additionally, Manke is looking for partners from the AI industry to improve access to more powerful models.
