2. Basic principle: Local data processing

Fahrwise is developed according to the principle of „Privacy by Design.“ All data processed by the app — particularly location and vehicle data — are exclusively local on your device processed and stored. 3. Processed data

  • Location data: are used in real time for warning notices (e.g., traffic lights and hazard zones) and driving statistics. Processing takes place exclusively on the device; no movement profiles are transmitted to servers.
  • Vehicle data (OBD): are read via a Bluetooth connection to your OBD adapter (e.g., speed, engine speed, fuel consumption) and are only displayed and stored locally.
  • Driving statistics: are calculated and stored locally on the device from the aforementioned data.

4. App permissions

  • Location: required for warnings and driving statistics. Processing takes place only locally on the device.
  • Bluetooth: required for connecting to your vehicle's OBD adapter.
  • Notifications (optional): for app warnings and status notifications.

You can revoke all permissions at any time in your Android settings. Please note that individual app functions may then become unavailable.

5. No ads, no tracking

The app contains no advertising SDKs and no tracking or analytics services (e.g., no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics). No profiling takes place.

6. No third-party disclosure

Since all data remains on your device, no personal data is transferred to third parties.

7. Retention Period and Deletion

All data is stored exclusively locally on your device. You can delete it yourself at any time by clearing the app data in your Android settings or by uninstallating the app.
